Child safety standards

Lagnora is for adults only. Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) is prohibited. This page is the public standard Google Play, Apple and anyone else can check. It is HTML, not a PDF, and it is not editable by visitors.

On this page

  1. 1. Who this is for
  2. 2. What we prohibit
  3. 3. How to report
  4. 4. What happens after a report
  5. 5. How long we keep a report

1. Who this is for

Lagnora is a matrimony service for South Asian adults in Europe. You must be 18 or older to join the waitlist, create an account or use the app. We do not offer a children's version, a families mode, or any feature aimed at anyone under 18.

2. What we prohibit

Child sexual abuse and exploitation is prohibited on Lagnora. That includes, without limitation:

  • Sexual content involving a minor, real or generated, including photographs, video, drawings and text.
  • Grooming, or any attempt to contact, recruit or exploit a child.
  • Asking for, offering, sharing or linking to child sexual abuse material.
  • An account, profile or photograph of a person who is under 18.
  • Using Lagnora to arrange contact with a child.

3. How to report

In the Lagnora app, open the other member's profile, Discover, or Introductions, and choose Report. One of the reasons is "Something involving a child". If there is nobody else on the screen, open Profile and use Report a safety concern. A person on our team reads every report. Nothing is decided automatically.

You can also write to privacy@lagnora.com from any mailbox. That address is our designated child-safety contact for members, for Google, and for law enforcement. Put "child safety" in the subject if you can.

4. What happens after a report

We record the report, the category, any note you wrote, and enough context to act — which member, which introduction or connection if there was one, and when. We keep that row even if the reported account is later deleted.

A human reviewer reads it. We may hide content, restrict or close an account, and keep evidence that the law requires us to keep. We do not take a final adverse decision about a member without a human-appealable path, except where we must act immediately to protect a child.

If the facts look like a crime, we report them to the appropriate authority. In the Netherlands that includes Meldpunt Kinderporno (https://meldpunt-kinderporno.nl) and, where required, the police. We do not wait for a court order to take a child off the service.

5. How long we keep a report

Abuse reports sit outside ordinary account deletion. If you delete your account we still keep a report that named you or that you filed, for as long as a legal hold requires, and we remove it within 14 days of that hold ending. The privacy policy says the same thing.

6. What this page does not claim

We do not claim that every photograph is scanned by an automated child-sexual-abuse classifier. We do not claim that a verification check makes this conduct impossible. We do claim that it is prohibited, that you can report it in the app, that a person reads the report, and that we will act.

7. Contact

Child-safety contact: privacy@lagnora.com. Operator: Sagous B.V., Startbaan 6, 1185 XR Amstelveen, the Netherlands, KvK 99611759.
