Trust & Safety
How Lagnora approaches identity verification, profile checks, reporting, blocking, moderation and privacy — and, just as importantly, what those measures cannot promise.
1. Identity verification
Identity and age verification is being introduced as part of the member onboarding process. Lagnora will require identity verification for eligible member access, carried out through an approved identity-verification provider. The provider is not yet publicly confirmed, and we will name it before public launch rather than earlier.
We keep the verification outcome and a minimal audit record. Raw identity documents are not retained longer than needed, and verification data is processed under the legal-obligation basis described in our privacy policy.
2. What verification does and does not prove
Identity verification helps reduce impersonation and misuse, but it cannot guarantee a member's intentions, behaviour or relationship status.
- It can support the claim that a member is a real adult person who completed a check.
- It does not prove that someone is single, divorced, widowed or free to marry.
- It does not prove that someone is honest about what they want or ready for a serious relationship.
- It does not verify every statement a member writes on their profile.
- It is one safeguard among several, not a guarantee of safety.
3. Profile checks
Profiles are expected to meet our community guidelines: one profile per person, recent photos that represent you accurately, and information that is honest about who you are and what you are looking for. Impersonation, borrowed photos and misleading profiles are not allowed and may lead to removal.
Paid visibility, where it exists, is labelled as visibility. It never implies stronger verification, greater trustworthiness or better compatibility.
4. Reporting
Use the report tools if something feels unsafe, abusive, deceptive or inappropriate. Reports help us see patterns that individual members cannot, so reporting matters even when you have already walked away from a conversation.
Please do not retaliate against someone for reporting you or for declining contact. You can also reach us directly at support@lagnora.com.
5. Blocking and unwanted contact
You can block a member to stop further contact, and you can review or change your blocked list. A decline is not an insult: if someone passes, asks you to stop, or no longer wishes to continue a conversation, respect that decision.
Repeated unwanted contact after a decline may lead to account restrictions or removal.
6. Moderation
We may restrict, suspend or close accounts that break our terms or community guidelines. Where the law allows, we tell the member why and give them a route to appeal.
Conduct that may lead to removal includes harassment or threats, impersonation and fake identities, scams or requests for money, hate speech, casteism, racism or religious abuse, sexual content or unsolicited sexual messages, content involving minors, repeated unwanted contact, and deliberate misuse of referral or promotional systems.
7. Safety limitations — what we will not claim
No platform can promise that nothing will go wrong, and we will not pretend otherwise. We do not claim that Lagnora is scam-free, that every member is safe, or that our checks make bad behaviour impossible.
What we can do is reduce the easiest forms of abuse, act on reports, and be honest about the limits. Use your judgement when interacting with someone new, take the time you need, and meet in a public place the first time.
8. Scam awareness
Never send money, gifts or financial help to someone you have met on Lagnora, however convincing the story. Requests for money, investment tips, gift cards or help with a sudden emergency are the most common pattern in relationship fraud, and asking members for money is grounds for removal here.
Be cautious when someone pushes very quickly to move the conversation off the platform, avoids video or in-person contact, or asks for identity documents, login details or intimate images. If something feels wrong, report it before continuing.
9. Referral and promotional abuse
Referral credits and launch rewards exist so members can invite people they genuinely know. They are subject to eligibility requirements and fraud checks, and may be withheld or cancelled in cases of duplicate, connected, reciprocal or suspicious account activity.
We deliberately do not publish our detection rules or thresholds. Deliberate misuse of referral or promotional systems can lead to loss of rewards and to account removal.
10. Privacy controls
Safety and privacy are the same conversation. Other members see only what you choose to make visible, family members you invite see only the specific items you grant them, and voluntary cultural or community details are yours to add or remove at any time.
Member data is stored in Microsoft Azure, region North Europe, with primary hosting in Frankfurt, Germany, and is not transferred outside the EU/EEA. We do not sell or rent personal data. Our privacy policy explains the legal bases, retention periods and the rights you can exercise.
11. Getting help
Safety or account concerns: support@lagnora.com. Privacy requests and complaints: privacy@lagnora.com. We answer in English or Dutch.
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first. In the EU the general emergency number is 112.
