Privacy policy
This policy explains what Sagous B.V. does with your personal data when you use Lagnora or join our waitlist. It is written to satisfy the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch Algemene Verordening Gegevensbescherming (AVG). If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it in plain language.
1. Who we are
Lagnora is operated by Sagous B.V., a private company registered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands (KVK: 99611759). Sagous B.V. is the data controller for all personal data described in this policy.
Privacy questions, requests and complaints: privacy@lagnora.com (placeholder address, monitored by our data protection contact).
2. What data we collect
We collect only what a matrimony service needs to work, and we tell you why at the moment we ask for it.
- Email address — to create your account and to send launch and account messages.
- First name and display name — so other members and your Family Circle know who they are speaking with.
- City and country — to introduce you to people who live within reach, and to show prices in your region.
- Age band — to keep introductions within the range you choose.
- Cultural background — voluntary, member-configured, never inferred by us, and used only for introductions and for deciding which communities we open next.
- Photos — the images you upload for your profile.
- Verification data — the documents or checks used to hand-verify that you are a real adult. We store the verification outcome and a minimal audit record, not the raw document any longer than needed.
- Chat messages — the conversations you have with other members, stored so you can read them again.
- Credit balance and transactions — the credits you buy, receive and spend.
- IP address — used to derive your country for regional pricing and to detect abuse. We do not build advertising profiles from it.
3. Legal basis for processing
- Consent — GDPR Article 6(1)(a): marketing email, launch updates, and the voluntary cultural fields you choose to fill in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Contract — Article 6(1)(b): creating and running your account, making introductions, chat, and credits.
- Legal obligation — Article 6(1)(c): identity and age verification, and retaining records we are legally required to keep.
- Legitimate interest — Article 6(1)(f): preventing fraud, catfishing, harassment and other abuse, and keeping the platform secure.
4. Where the data lives
All member data is stored in Microsoft Azure, region North Europe, with primary hosting in Frankfurt, Germany. Data is not transferred outside the EU/EEA.
Where a processor is required for the service to function, that processor is contractually bound by a data processing agreement and EU-only hosting.
5. Who can see the data
- You — always, and you can export or delete it.
- Other members — only what you choose to make visible on your profile.
- Your Family Circle — only the specific items you grant them, and only for as long as you grant them.
- Lagnora staff — support access is limited, purpose-bound, and recorded in an audit log.
- Firebase (Google) — anonymised crash diagnostics only, with no profile content.
- No data brokers. No advertisers. We do not sell or rent personal data, ever.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR and AVG you have the following rights, and we answer requests within one month.
- Access — get a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Rectification — correct anything that is wrong.
- Erasure — delete your account and data (the right to be forgotten).
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
- Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdrawal of consent — stop marketing email or remove voluntary fields at any time, without losing your account.
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with the Dutch supervisory authority, Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl), or with the authority in your own country.
7. Retention
While your account is active we keep your data so the service works. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days.
Items under a legal hold — for example verification records or abuse reports we must retain — are separated and removed within 14 days of the hold expiring.
8. Cookies
This marketing website sets a single functional session cookie. It carries no advertising identifier.
We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookie-free and stores no personal data. Analytics are disabled by default and no analytics or advertising cookie is set without your explicit consent. We do not use Google Analytics.
